One of the biggest mysteries for women who frequently travel is how to get all the needed makeup into a space-saving single bag. It’s important to stay beautiful and confident anywhere people go. If not focusing on that, they also wonder how to organize toiletries, skincare and hair care products into separate cosmetic bags. Aside from worrying about what to bring, there is also the concern of international airport restrictions today.
Based on compiled reviews by makeup experts, frequent travelers and fashion writers, some important factors to consider when packing a beauty arsenal are bag size and type, availability of extra containers, and the goal of the trip. But that is only the beginning. When these factors have been considered, it must come to the main event, which is, what beauty products to bring.
As the first factor, considering the bag size and type is very important. The bigger the baggage, the bigger the makeup bag can be. Aside from the appropriate size, it should also be lightweight, has many compartments and a handle for easy carrying and transporting. Most importantly, it should be machine-washable.
Extra containers are also important. Airport restrictions today limit the amount of liquid substances that can be included in a carry-on bag. Though there are a few exceptions, it’s commonly a general rule that more than 1 liter of liquid substances should be placed inside the luggage. Extra small containers come in handy when you need to have some kind of liquid substance in your carry-on bag. Ziplocks are also handy as extra containers.
Equally important is considering the goal of the trip. There is always a reason why people visit certain places. This would help narrow down the list of items that could be brought for the trip. For example, a Hawaiian trip calls for beauty products that has multiple sunscreen protection, moisturisation and gives the skin and body a fresh look.
As long as these factors are kept in mind, it’ll be easier to list down the beauty products that can go in a makeup bag when traveling. Here are a few key points to remember on what makeup to bring when traveling:
First things first, keep in mind that beauty products should be efficient, easy to use and multipurpose. That way, there will be no need to bring more items of makeup that won’t be used. It’ll save more space as well. Here is a list of some important makeup items that can be used while in flight.
Lipstick
Even without all the rest of the other makeup items, having a lipstick on makes a huge difference. It makes a lady look more alive and awake. Always bring two shades, one for casual occasions and one for formal or business meetings.
Moisturizer, Lip Balm and Hand Lotion
Moisturizers are probably a set of the most important items under this list. It includes lip balms and hand lotions, too. These items are important because when traveling, flights can dry out the skin and lips so it’s important to moisturize during flights. Just don’t forget about the liquid substance restrictions implemented in major airports. Think about travel-size, travel-wise.
Under eye roller
Aside from dry skin and lips, flights can also induce puffy eyes. To avoid this, bring an under eye roller when needed. Concealer or foundation could also work, but it would feel heavy on the skin.
Other makeup items can go in the luggage. Remember to bring at least two cosmetic bags – a smaller one to be put inside the carry-on bag and a larger one that will go with the luggage.
