Is Oatmeal Good For Your Face? You Bet!

As a Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics, you might think this discussion is counter-intuitive; that it is against my business practices. But it isn’t. I feel tnat one of my duties as a Beauty Cosultant, I should be able to discuss Natural Remedies to Common Beauty Problem. Thus, it gives you another option and I earn your trust.  And So… My post is about the Beauty Benefits of Oatmeal. Oatmeal is not just a breakfast staple. It also has benefits for the skin. In times long past,  oatmeal was used to help people get rid of skin conditions such as rashes, insect bites and other skin irritations. These iritations were greatly reduced because of oatmeal’s  healing properties. In fact, when I was a child with chicken pox, my parents immersed me in a tub with a colloidal oatmeal suspension to stop the itching. So yeah. It works.

THE BEAUTY BENEFITS OF OATMEAL

1.  Pore Size Minimizer

The combination of oatmeal and yogurt provides us with jam packed benefits which make your skin soft and supple. It will also diminish your skin’s pore size. The lactic acid in the yogurt kills off bacteria that can cause acne and other skin conditions. It also protects the skin from harmful elements. Mix 2 tablespoonfuls of ground organic rolled oats and 2 tablespoonfuls of yogurt. If you don’t have a grinder for the oats, you can use a mortar and pestle. Leave this mixture in the fridge for about 4 to 6 hours and then smooth onto your face generously. Leave the mask on your face for 30 minutes. Then rinse off using lukewarm water. Doing this process  at least twice a week will give you great results.

2. Oatmeal as a Natural Cleanser

Oatmeal can be used as a natural cleanser for the face. Harsh cleansers can irritate the skin. Oatmeal has all of the skin cleansing properties that will make your face supple . It is also a natural skin exfoliant. The benefits of exfoliating your face with oatmeal is two-fold.  It gets rid of dead skin cells so that you will have fresh, invigorated skin and your skin will feel  moiaturized and you will have a fresh faced glow. All you need to do is to grab a handful of organic oatmeal, apply a little lukewarm water to create a paste and massage this ono your face for about 2 minutes. Then rinse using lukewarm water. Moisturize your face as usual with your favorite moisturizer to help seal in the natural moiature.
